Is there a way to disable the ability to select multiple items in a slicer or filter in PowerPivot? I have a fact table which contains month-end snapshots of product balances (financial data). There is one dimension table for dates and one for product categories. I want the user to be able to select the year and month they want to view, but selecting multiple months or years does not make sense because summing this month-end snapshot data is not correct or meaningful. For example - the balance for Product A was $10 for June 2011 and increased to $30 for July 2011. If the user selects both time periods it would show a total of $40 for Product A which is not correct. Is there a way to provide the user with a list of values to choose from, but only allow them to select one value?

For something like that, looks like you'll have to do some custom coding via VBA: http://www.databison.com/index.php/slicer-vba-code-create-change-or-modify-a-pivot-table-slicer-using-vba/
