It seems there's a bunch of little bugs here and there with the new recent update to BIDN. If you find them, please post them at this link so that the developer can log/address them: http://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/48/bidn-customer-support/issuetracker/project/0

Wow, okay so word of warning folks: That site requires you to register new account and then to submit bugs you have to ask to join the space and then wait for approval...this process REALLY needs to get streamlined.

Haha Keith

Also, I'm not really digging how every reply to a forum post has Re prefixed to the Subject so you have some forum replies with ReReReReReReReReReReReRe in the subject line.

Yeah I submitted that and was told it'd be fixed in next release.

Yes, this is a very obstructive way to report bugs.....the inclination is to just give up.  Perseverance is important.

How will I know when I have been given access after registration and trying to get into the space so I can submit my bug?

Daniel, if you go back to the link and log in using the new account that you set up, it looks like it gives you a page that will tell you that your account is still pending approval.  ( mine is still reporting a "pending" status )

I assume once it is not pending approval - you will be allowed into the site.

Yup, looks like they're individually approving people, which IMO is terrible way to manage bug reports. Is what it is I guess...

I came back to the page and refreshed it after I went to lunch and I was in.  I also saw a little later that I received an email updating my BIDN group approval status.

I am Vivek from the Communifire team. Let me clarify a few points:

1. This is the private support space for BIDN on our support community: http://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/48/bidn-customer-support/issuetracker/project/0. Members who join this space can post bugs here which will be directly handled by our support team. Now I noticed the space's membership is set to "Moderated". I have set it back to "Un-moderated" so that any member joining this space will get auto-approved.

2. There is another alternative to report bugs without BIDN members needing to go to my.axero support space. The site admins of BIDN can turn on the issue tracker, and give permissions to members to report bugs. This will allow members to report bugs right here on BIDN.com but then someone has to post these bugs (maybe in summarized form) on my.axero.

Let me know your thoughts.

-Vivek

Vivek,

Thanks for the reply. It's just a very frustrating process from the end user point of view having to register a new account, get approval and THEN submit the bug report. The whole process just doesn't seem very user friendly. If there's a bug, especially major bugs that affect the ability to actually use the site, I'd expect the process to be quick and open. That's just my point of view.

Yes, I agree. We cannot avoid account creation as my.axero is a separate website. But now there should not be any approval required for joining the BIDN customer support space. Let me know if its not working.

Let's hope the next release comes out soon....it would be good to get rid of these bugs.

I don't know if you consider this a bug, but the logo displayed in my favorites, and on my browser tab for this site is the same as the Axero Solutions logo, rather than the BIDN logo.

Raghav,

   Thanks for your help!

BIDN'ers -

I didn't have permissions to see previous issues entered on the Communifire support site - to save duplication, I have already entered issues for the following 4 items:

  • Previously written blog posts not visible ( already fixed )
  • Line numbering not available when adding code in a forum post
  • Code or image additions to a post defaulting to the top of the message instead of the cursor location
  • Captcha not required on blog commenting
