I'm looking for recommendations on an online place to record, review, and search notes and documentation that I make during the day on my work activities, preferably with the ability to upload attachments.

I want to record what I did with a particular task with enough detail to get back up to speed quickly on it a year later when I review the notes.  I'm in one of those once a year large data processing tasks right now, and am willing and able to put in the detail necessary to make this task that much easier next year, for myself or whomever next needs to do it.

Anyone have a recommendation for such an online tool?   I have tried Google Sites, which I like, but is a little more work to edit than I want, especially when I have connectivity problems there (which seems to happen often).  I am currently attaching notes to my work-related Remember The Milk tasks, which is working pretty well so far, but I think I need something with more ability to organize and expand on those notes.

Do you keep an online engineering notebook?  If you do, what do you use?

I got a recommendation from elsewhere about Evernote, and I am using that now.  It's working well for my needs.  Had to pay $45 for an annual subscription in order to be able to upload my SQL scripts and other items (or you can pay $5 per month).  I especially like that you can drag and drop Outlook emails to it, and it just attaches a copy.  It is a Windows application that sits in your system tray and allows you to add a note at any time via a hotkey.   They also have an iPhone app (a plus for me), and all this data is stored online, so I can access my notes from home or work, or my phone.   Also, there is a Firefox extension which allows you to capture a web page to a note with the press of a button.  Nice application; recommended.

I use MediaWiki, its like your own wikipedia.  Its also free!

It a bit of a pain to get used to, and the formating is definately challenging, but the ability to link pages and articles makes it well worth while.

if you do decide to use it get the O'Reilly book "Media Wiki" ISBN: 978-0-596-51979-7 which is a must to get you started.

As stirone mentioned, Evernote is a nice tool to use. What I like about Evernote is they've developed apps on multiple mobile platforms so if you're ever away from your machine and need to reference a note/script/etc. you can pull it up on your phone/tablet/etc. Another solution I really like is Dropbox. Again, a cloud-based service with apps on multiple platforms. The nice thing about this one is you can put multiple file types in the folders and those folders get synched up across any device you have Dropbox installed on. I like to keep script files and all sorts of stuff in Dropbox as it saves me from having to copy/email stuff all over. Also worth mentioning, both of those services have web-based interfaces that let you do what you need from a browser and not have to install a client if you just need to get to something quickly.

I like ResophNotes.  http://www.resoph.com/ResophNotes/Welcome.html

It syncs w/ SimpleNote and for Android phones you can download the app called mNote.

I keep all of my SQL Snippets in there.  It has the ability to search too.
