Hi.

I've notice that when I receive a private message sometimes I miss them for days, because isn't well visible (in my opinion). Since we receive an email when there is a reply to some post we want, my suggestion is that when there is new private message, an email would be also sent. What do you think?

Another one, but much more complex (I think). Besides the recent acitivity we could have a button or something with "new posts". this would include forum, blogs and articles. When clicked, would give us all post that we hadn't read yet. This is because last activity gets full with posts and updates to their posts and sometimes there are post we hadn't read yet and got out from recent activity. Just an idea.

Best Regards,

Marco Francisco

Another tip.

I know isn't free, but being able to google stuff and find a lot of useful information as we have in this forum/articles/blog would have much visibility and would help a lot of good people all around the world.Wink

I tried to google exacly the same title as some of the articles/blog we can find in here, and aint any reference to bidn's site.

Since this is a community-based site I think there should be a forum/sub-forum for either General Discussion or Social. For social basically a place where one can start a thread and introduce themselves. I've seen this implemented in other forums and its a nice place to break the forum ice if one doesn't want to start out right away starting their first thread as something technical.

The google comment is very pertinent, and has been mentioned to me by two people this last week.

I *have* found some of my blog posts on a google search, so I'm not sure what the indexing issue is : because it is only *some* even when searching for my handle

All, we're looking to overhaul BIDN in the near future and need everyone's feedback on this. What works/doesn't work here on this platform? What would you like to see that we don't currently offer? Do you care about points system? Let us know here!

FYI one of the big things we're looking to offer under the new BIDN is syndication of blogs so for instance if you have your own blog (i.e. mine is sqlchicken.com) you can post on your blog and the syndication feed would cross post over here (no more copy/paste jobs!).

Again we need EVERYONE'S feedback on this so please post all suggestions here. Thanks all!

Any chance of Android mobile phone support?

Everything works for me except the main field for content, the "Your Message" section.

Not sure about specifically Android support but having a mobile version of the site/forums will definitely be on the to add list. Thanks for feedback!

The profile really needs to be able to accept return characters similar to WordPress.

The people search is, well, useless... try finding me using "Joe" or "Salvatore" - nope I must know the user name "JoeSalvatore".

Also the people section should to support different sorting options (e.g. name (last first), name (first last), company)

Maybe it's just me but I would like to see when someone posted something. I only see the time of the post, not the date. That should be a simple fix???

I whole-heartedly agree on the comment about not having dates on any of the timestamps, so I guess I am just "second-ing" that statement...

Google suggestion...YES

Points, I personally think they are fun, please keep them.  I also find them very useful in recognizing active members of the community.  Over time I become more interested in content posted by the more active members because I have come to know their work and recognize their name.  It is another great way to help my little mind sort and categorize and prioritize content.

Blog syndication is an excellent idea.

Hi PieterGoes & cwe424

For the time format you can change it in MyAccount ->Your Location page.

Thanks ~ Mega

Thanks for the direction, I did not realize that. Well, I modify my suggestion to making that option/setting default, but as far as I'm concerned, consider the suggestion taken care of. Thanks!
