Thanks for sharing this Jorge... I recently read a similar post from Andy Leonard and it seemed like something crazy was going on. I guess I'll have to keep in touch with the whole PASS process.

Being relatively new to the SQL Server Community (been working with SQL Server for 5 years, but only recently in tuned with the community-- online and local-- recently), it's interesting that drama, so to speak, exists here even where there should be camaraderie and the sharing of knowledge.  Oh well.  I do not know the details, but I want to reemphasize what I read the community, but cannot find again so I cannot take credit for this.  Above all, we're all passionate about what we do.  And from there, that passion should be a positive thing; never negative.  In short, let's let passion move us positively.  Positive distance; that’s what we strive for.

Thanks Brian! Yup election time at PASS always seems to drum up quite a bit of activity, especially these last couple of years. Jason, first off welcome to the community! The drama I can assure you is very much kept to a minimum and we're all (despite what it looks like during election time) very much positive and that camaradarie and sharing of knowledge you speak of is seen in spades. The elections the past few years has drummed up quite a bit of the passionate parts of our community as well all feel extremely strong about this organization and want to see it grow and succeed as much as possible. The unfortunate part is there is, in fact, politics in play here as the PASS organization is a unique makeup of not only a community-based organization but there is a business behind it as well. This distinction is sometimes lost on some and thus we have all kinds of head-butting. At the end of the day, so long as everyone stays civil, we're all very much friends in the end. We all (should) learn, grow, and move forward. Thanks again for your responses guys!
