SSRS 2008 and 2008R2 Default Ruler to On!!!
In my last webinar, somebody had asked me if there is a way to set the ruler to on by default. First, if you haven’t accessed the ruler before, you will be able to find it near the zoom:
When you have turned it on, it will appear like this:
This is a nice feature to have for when you are trying to make sure that report is the appropriate size needed, i.e. printing in landscape or portrait. I did some research and this is what I found. You are only able to turn the ruler on for the report that you are currently working on.
In the current version of BIDS (2008 & 2008R2), there is not an option to set your ruler on by default. I have read a few forums where it could potentially come out in the next release.
